No injuries were reported in the Thursday morning blaze at 49 George St.
WESTFIELD - Careless disposal of smoking materials was the cause of a blaze that caused some $15,000 in damage to a home on George Street Thursday morning.
No injuries were reported in the blaze at 49 George St. It was reported shortly after 10:15 a.m., said Deputy Chief Mark Devine.
“The fire was on a mattress, the cause was smoking,” said Devine. The property is rented by the state Department of Health and Human Services, he said.
