Westfield schools have used all four scheduled snow days.
WESTFIELD – All municipal offices here will scheduled to close at 3 p.m. because of the on-going snowstorm.
Schools were closed Tuesday, eliminating all four snow days scheduled for the current 2010-2011 school year. Additional school cancellations during the remainder of the school year will either add to the school year or reduce the scheduled April vacation.
As of Tuesday, the last day for Westfield schools will be June 16.
Despite the early closing of municipal offices, Department of Public Works crews will remain plowing streets for “as long as necessary,” DPW Superintendent James M. Mulvenna said.
“We hope to get a break sometime today but if not operations will continue with another storm due on Wednesday,” said Mulvenna.
Mulvenna said that as of 1 p.m. Tuesday snowfall here measured between 8 and 9 inches.
