WESTFIELD - Westfield State University boasts the best faculty credentials and training among schools offering online education programs, according to a new set of rankings issued by U.S. News & News Report.
The university also received accolades in the categories of student services and technology, where it ranked #16, and teaching practices and student engagement, where it ranked #42. The lists represent U.S. News & News Report's first ever edition of online education program rankings.
Westfield State currently offers four online bachelor’s degree completion programs in the fields of business, liberal studies, history and sociology. The university began offering online degrees in 2008.
"To be ranked as only 1 of 4 institutions in the country by U.S. News & World Report on their Honor Roll, along with The University of Florida, Pace University in New York and Florida Institute of Technology is extraordinary," university president Evan Dobelle said in a press release. "To be placed as Number 1 for Faculty and Training throughout the country is an enormous compliment to our professors and our professional staff."
